Our New Toy

So our newest toy at our house is a trampoline. Rob seems to tell the story that I was adament on getting one bc I grew up with one, and while I did not object to the idea whatsoever it actually was quite the find. I was working a personal property auction for my parents and they had one for sale. No one else bid on it so we ended up getting it for $50! My parents decided to give it to Karys for her birthday. What a great gift! The girls love it and have had so much fun with each other, bouncing, chasing, and just laying on it. I love it bc it is great exercise for all of us ;) but also wears them out so well b4 naps and bed! What more could a mom want!
Gracie getting bounced by Karys
i am so surprised at how well and high the girls can actually jump
They thought it was hilarious when Rob hid underneath it and pushed up on them
What a beauty! She is quite the crazy girl on the trampoline
"Can we please jump on it now?!?!"
Handing Daddy the springs he needed
That got boring though so they both tried to put them on themselves
Some of the final ones were pretty hard, it was my idea to sit and pull like this;) I wanted a pic of Rob's face doing this!
I am just gonna see if I can sneak on here quick when no one is looking....

Day 2 MS 150

An early morning pic of me...I was the first to head out that morning and kick off Day 2. It was so early but it was a beautiful morning! And I don't say that about many mornings ;)Coming in at the almost half way point...strength is found in this lady in more than those guns she is flashing ;)The girls did great! All three of them spent so much time in the car the past two days...and everytime we passed a biker, they would clap and cheer! So fun to watch them get so into it too!A rest stop along the way...these places needed more shade ;) The girls were making sure they kept each other hydrated! It was so hot out!Last stop before the finish...they both can still put on a smil and look good!
The five of us reunited again, a family....pushing, laughing, tearing up....an irreplacable moment
All of us...minus Rob and the girlies...crossing the finish line together with Mom leading the way! She led us up that last massive hill, in some of the hottest temps summer has seen straight down the home stretch!
What a woman! She wanted to give up at moments but she never did...she never does. There isn't much that stands in this lady's way and if it does it better look out, bc she isn't going to quit without a fight! She was amazing today, I won't forget it as long as I live! She did it!
My dad was amazing! He hurt and he was hot too...but he kept on going, and he didn't do it for himself at all but he did it for my mom! I love the way he loves her...so unselfishly. He was a trouper and he accomplished something great for himself along the way!

The entire crew, THE JOY RIDERS! At the finish line for a group shot...boy were we filled with joy at this moment! GOD IS SO GOOD!
Wow! Two amazing women embracing...they truly have demonstratd to my sisters and I what it means to love your sister and to be the one who will be there no matter what! Amazing love!
We were all SO glad to be inside the air conditioning when we were done, we just were able to veg for awhile on the cool floor without moving!

The view from the living room landing at the end of the day...it wasn't even 8pm yet ;)

Day 1 of the MS 150

The first group at the starting lineThe first rest stop...Everyone looks great!Sarah and Jeremy both trying to figure out how to get her helmet on Shirley rode the first 20 miles after just having surgery months ago to remove a kidney! Strong women must run in our famliy ;)

Rob and I posing for a picture at a rest stop...we hadn't been riding too long at this point so we were still pretty energized. The wind would get us eventually!Ok so it is definitely determined that I was not part of the age that knows how to take a good self portrait. I tried like three times and Megan got this cute one on the first try! This was at the third rest stop...Megan, Rob, and I's 1st...Mom, Meg, and I pulling into Beresford after just working ourselves up some massive hills, straight into a head wind. We were still smiling....I just love the fact that they are still kissing in the middle of all of this! They really stuck by each other through this and encouraged each other along the way! So fun to watch ;)I decided to do the pose Megan did all the time as a kid! So I got a little bit more into it than she did...I am always the one who looks dorky in these pics! All of us with mom after we tattooed her initials on our arm before the last 9 miles! Wow! What a woman she is!
Thier last rest stop on the first day...dad was feeling the toll of the day at this point mostly in the rear ;)
Rob just being himself! I love it though that the same old stupid things still manage to make me smile!
The three of us crossing the finish line together!!! Yay, one day down---one to go!
Ken and Shirley! Amazing this weekend! Ken rode the entire ride and Shirley was a great cheerleader and a faithful SAG wagon! She really got to see us girls from behind-literally ;)

Celebrating Nathan J!

These are just some of the pictures that my sister, Shay, sent us from Nathan's birthday party this past weekend...we missed it bc we were riding the MS 150 with my mom and the rest of my family. We were so bummed but wanted to celebrate Nathan so I wanted to post these and this blessing.
Nathan,
We pray for you this year that you will continue to truly know what it means to have Jesus in your heart. The story your mommie and daddie shared with all of us about your first prayer was to heart warming! We pray that there will be people who will continue to shower you with Christ's love and that you in return will continue to learn the small lessons of what it means to love others as well. We pray that you will conquer potty training, help your daddy finish your house projects, climb the rock wall, and tell you mommy she is beautiful....we pray that you will survive a week in the chaos we live in, structure us a little, and cuddle with a lots! We pray that you will learn a new song, dance to the beat of your own drum, and pave the way of a path set out for you but has not yet been travelled for it is yours alone. But most of all we pray that you will feel secure, safe and so loved in the arms of the Saviour, the care and embrace of your parents and the circle of family! We love you tons Nathan J! Can't wait to see you soon!

Up from Down

Rob just being Rob...Wild at Heart is the best way I could describe it. There were so many times i wanted to say something....when he led our kids off the trail (they asked us not to), when he wanted to slide down the snow, when he climbed down to take this pic...but I just thought back to reading the book Wild at Heart...and I knew that this is who he is and I need to let him be that:) Plus it is those things that balance me out, push me, and entice me...Love him!
Us as we started getting into the rocks up past the tree line

I am just standing on a rock...reaching up into the vast openness....
You might think Rob is doing the same, but do not be mistaken...he is just peeing no-handed!
I actually love bus rides...just stake claim on a spot in the aisle and go to sleep til the next stop...get out, go to the bathroom and repeat. I think on the way out there I was awake for like 15 minutes up until the last hour. You have to be awake to go through the Rockies...BEAUTIFUL!
Rob had tons of fun playing dodge ball with these guys, and he has the war wounds, bruises, and hickies to prove it!
Right in front of Bear lake before our climb up the peak...you can kind of see it in the background, it is the peak that is kind of whited out by the lighting. This is at 6am, but I was happy this morning...it was breathtaking! This picture of the girls and i is with Alli Rogers...she is amazing! Check her out at http://www.allirogers.com/ you can download a lot of her music for free right now!

Rob got a henna tattoo on his arm...yeah, wow!

Where to even start....summer has been crazy! Just told a friend today that I don't know up from down anymore ;) I remember saying earlier this spring that I was going to try to maintain some sense of stability for the girls by staying at the lake for the chunk of the summer that Rob, and I for a week, were moving all around. And I think I managed it a little bit, but I think whenever you are out of your environment for any chunk of time it is hard and you get thrown off a little.

So we finally made it home last night, granted it was 10:30pm already...and we spent most of the day today running around the house naked, WAIT! the girls, not Rob and I...rediscovering all our old toys, laying on the living room floor, and just "chasing" around the loop in the kitchen in living room. We got to know OC again, went to church to say "Hi", went to Chinese for lunch (bc we hadn't bought groceries before our Wal-Mart run tonight in 4ever!), got 99c movies, and took AWESOME naps!
The crazy part of all of this is we are still not going to be home a weekend all month! Usually you are not looking forward to fall and everything starting up again, but I am! I want schedule and routine, any small sense of normalcy I can invite into my life! I want to know what day of the week it is and maybe even the date if someone asks me ;) And yes in a small way I can find and relish in the freedom I have felt this summer...most of the time I was glad I had no cell phone service, no computer...the TV at the lake got one channel and we never watched anything but the weather. We are so dependent on all of those things....I loved that freedom. I never had anywhere to be or anyone to answer to...I didn't have to find times for quiet moments with God b/c God was all around me, and touched me often through the waves and the wind. Not to mention that I was single parenting for a chunk of time so we talked every hour on the hour most days ;)
Anyway, here are some pics...there are so many so just chose a few from the last times at the lake as well as RMH (we were there the last week of July). We climbed Hallet's Peak...it was awesome! Definitely the highlight of the whole trip!
